Vixen, as portrayed within The CW's Arrowverse, is the superhero identity of Mari McCabe. This version of the character first appeared in the animated web series Vixen, and later in live-action form on episodes of Arrow.
Mari inherited the Tantu Totem, a mystical artifact that grants her the power to draw upon the abilities of any animal on Earth. This allows her to manifest animal traits such as the speed of a cheetah, the strength of a gorilla, or the flight of an eagle.
Growing up as an orphan in Detroit after her mother was murdered, Mari initially used her powers for personal gain. However, she eventually learned to embrace her heroic destiny and fight for justice, inspired by the legacies of Green Arrow and The Flash.
